is the 4G wifi quite fast there? the roads is really similar with Indo city roads and I've been crossing the roads lots in Indonesia and we're kinda pro LOL what you need to do is using your magic hand to give a stop sign haha I know it's a total scary haha ^^ great tips Janice!

Great tips here! I always found AirBnbs a little hit and miss in HCMC. You get some great places but also some awful places too. Loved HCMC though, lived there for nearly 2 years and there are so many great places and spots that aren't really well known by Western tourists.

Thanks for all the info about Ho Chi Minh City. I think we will be going Airbnb too it looks a lot cheaper than hotels. Planning on making a return to Vietnam sometime next year. We loved our time there too ๐Ÿ™‚

Speaking from being a local there – the best places to exchange currency would be gold/jewelry stores! You literally come in and hand them your AUD/USD, they point on a whiteboard with scribbles of exchange rates, if you're happy they will proceed. I believe it should match Google or fewer dongs. The best place to go will be the Dien Hong jewelry store in Binh Thanh District, near my grandma's! P.S. love your videos!

Good tip on the visa. I paid $90 at the Sydney consulate. And Iโ€™ll be getting the grab app for Indonesia next year…..BTW I reckon youโ€™d be good as a guest reporter on The Feed๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

It's funny, cause this video popped up while I was having some pho (๐Ÿฅฃ) with a buddy who is going there in February. He was asking about things there, but I haven't been there for some time, this video is more helpful to him than I am.

I have found that the best and easiest place to exchange US dollar in $100 increments is at the gold jewelry shops. These can be found with a google search. This has not changed over the 50 years that I have been to associated with Vietnam.

Janice, I would add for currency exchange either avoid doing this at the airport or just exchanging a small amount (for taxi / Grab fare to your accommodation) as they give you the worst rates of exchange. Then if possible ask a local for the place they recommend for currency exchange (often it will be a place that buys, sells and exchanges gold). I am lucky as I have friends in Vietnam to help me find the best exchange places.
